Dayton Performing Arts Alliance Announces New Conductors for 2025-26 Season
The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) has appointed Isaac Selya and Maureen Hickey Haitch as staff conductors for the upcoming 2025-26 season. This follows the retirement of longtime conductor Patrick Reynolds, who has served the organization for 25 years. Selya, currently the music director of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and founder of Queen City Opera, will act as interim staff conductor, supporting Music and Artistic Director Keitaro Harada and leading several performances, including "The Nutcracker" and "Sleeping Beauty." Harada expressed enthusiasm about Selya's appointment, highlighting his infectious passion for music. Meanwhile, Haitch expands her role to conduct both the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Strings, continuing her contributions to the DPAA since July 2024. The organization will also conduct a national search for a long-term assistant or associate conductor during Selya's interim tenure.
